BENJAMIN FUNERAL SERVICE NOWATA, OKLAHOMA 918-273-2700....
We'd like to thank everyone for joining us to celebrate Juanita Martin's life. Juanita was the most loving, caring person you could ever know. Although very quiet, she was always fun to be around. She would tell us jokes all the time. No matter what she was faced with she would always try to make everyone around her smile. Juanita loved to read books and was competitive when it came to playing games.
Juanita Martin was the youngest child of four born to Lula and Theodore Fikes on November 2, 1952 in West Point, New York. She graduated from Highland Falls High School in 1970. She went on to join the military and was stationed in Ft Leonardwood, MO where she met the love of her life Gary Martin Sr.. They later married on April 29, 1972. Not too long after she retired her military career and they started a family. They shared almost 49 years of marriage together. He stood by her side faithfully until the end. Juanita was baptized as a Jehovah Witness in 1976 and faithfully served Jehovah until death. Talking about the Bible was one of her favorite things to do. She would share her years of Bible knowledge with anyone she came in contact with. Juanita was a proud mother of five children and a loving wife. Her whole family felt the warmth of love from her huge, caring heart.
Juanita never let people know about all the things she was going through. She fought an uphill battle for many years. Through it all she showed strength and courage; all the while trying to make others happy as she kept on a smile. On January 1, 2021, Juanita Martin was succumbed by death. Juanita Martin was deeply loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Theodore Fikes Jr. She is survived by her husband Gary Martin Sr.; children Zolton Martin, Marcus Martin, Gary Martin Jr., Datina Chinda and Nina Howard; with 9 grandchildren; and her two sisters Luvone Fikes and Louise Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews.
