A.D. Rucker

January 16, 1918 — December 29, 2006

Alvin D. A.D. Rucker, 88, Bluejacket Resident passed away on Friday, December 29, 2006 at Craig General Hospital. A.D. was born January 16, 1918, in Vinita, OK to Fred and Bessie (Gaffany) Rucker. He was a life long resident of Craig County. He attended several rural schools some were Eagle, Union, Centralia, and Bluejacket. Graduating from Bluejacket High School in 1935. Mr. Rucker married Marie (Casto) on September 19, 1941 at Welch, OK. They were married for 65 years. A.D. joined the military in 1943 he was a member of the Navy Sea-Bees, where he served for three and a half years. He returned in 1946 in which one year was spent on the Island of Guam. After returning from the service he went to work for Chas Teenor Sinclair Oil and Gas in Craig and Delaware Counties. From that job, he went to work for the Vinita Stockyards where he was manager for Kelly Hartley and Homer White for twelve years. In 1957 he went to work for Maxon Sale Barn at Welch, OK where he was employed for 14 years as a Field man representative. In 1971 A.D. and Marie started the business P and R feed company in Vinita, for six years. He retired from the Welch Livestock Company. A.D. has been associated with the livestock industry all of his life. He raised paint and quarter horses for several years. He loved to go to Livestock Sales, Fairs, and Livestock Shows. Mr. Rucker is survived by his wife Marie Rucker of the home, two daughters Linda McAuliffe and her husband Mike of Bartlesville, Kathy Wood and her husband Jeff of Vinita, three grandchildren Casey McAuliffe of Bartlesville, Laura and Jenny Wood of Vinita. He attended First Christian Church for many years and recently had become a member of the First Church of God. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Monday, January 1, 2007 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Cowboy Junction. Interment will follow in the Timpson Chapel Cemetery under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita.
