Aero John David Ira Bragg-Sutton

May 15, 1988 — July 25, 2024

Aero John David Ira Bragg-Sutton of Nowata, Oklahoma, passed away on July 25th, 2024 at 11:11 pm at the Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma with their husband and parents at their side. They were born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 15, 1988 to Mark and Patsy Bragg.

Aero/David grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Eisenhower International School, Thoreau Demonstration Academy, and graduated from Tulsa School of Arts & Science in 2007. Aero had a vocabulary that could rival Merriam-Webster and was fluent in both Spanish and French. They later graduated from Tulsa Community College with a degree in Marketing. Aero/David worked as a bartender in early adult years, where they met and fell in love with coworker, and future husband Jason. They later served as a customer service specialist for Avis Budget Group, was an analyst for Airgas, and most recently served as a Behavioral Health Coach for GLMHC in the Atlas Program for Bartlesville Public Schools before opening Cherokee Ave Outpost & Books in Nowata. Aero created a safe space for any and all individuals to shop, relax, read, or just visit.

Aero/David and Jason met in 2009 as co-workers, and quickly became best friends. Not long after, their relationship took a turn, and the rest is history. David and Jason spent 9 years as foster parents, loving each child as their own for the time that they were there. In 2013, they adopted their oldest three children, Taylor, Nyah, and Tony. Later in 2017, Lincoln joined the family, ironically on the same day that David was diagnosed with Cancer. David loved his children fiercely and worked to connect each child to their own and each others cultures, they felt that it was important to understand each other in order to respect each other. Aero was also a huge advocate for so many voices throughout their adulthood. They were active in the fight against hunger, an active member of Tulsa Food Not Bombs, a frequent protester/demonstrator of ICE and BLM. They were a member of the Nowata Beautification Committee, designing and painting over 30 murals around the town of Nowata, as well as the multitude of city improvement projects that they completed. Aero was an active member/performer/and producer for shows within the Blazed Burlesque Troop out of Tulsa, and performed many shows at various bars, including Club Majestic. Aero was incredibly talented in so many arts, they could sing in a way that most people dream, paint things without the slightest thought or direction to start, an orator, an author, a minister, an Aerialist, amongst so many other talents. Aero is already severely missed by so many organizations, individuals, and their patrons. They were a bright and shining star that has dimmed too soon.

Aero is preceded in death by his Grandparents; Roy and Edith Radschweit, of Pryor, OK. Glenn and Dorothy Dunmire, of Shreveport, La.

Those left to cherish their memory include their husband: Jason Bragg- Sutton, of Nowata. Children: Taylor Sutton, Nyah Sutton, Tony Sutton, and Lincoln Sutton, of the home. Parents: Mark and Patsy Bragg, of Tulsa. Brothers: Taylor Bragg, of Tulsa. Matthew Bragg, and husband Ben Raines, of Tulsa. Tanyon Helzer, and partner Katie Manz of Lakewood, CO. Neices, Quinn and Margot Helzer of Lakewood, CO. Aunt and Uncle, Dixie and Jim Miller, of Tulsa. Cousins, Anna Sloat and husband Monte, of Biloxi, MS, and Nathan Miller, of Tulsa. Bonus Daughter, Samanthaa Grady, of Tulsa, and a host of other children who they will always love as one of their own, and know who they are. Their love knew no bounds and family knew not blood.
