Alice Hicks

Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK (918) 253-3222 - Alice Odette Hicks (Honey) was born on Oct 17, 1929, to Duke and Della Williams at her maternal grandparents home in Topsy, OK. Her dad nicknamed her "Honey" and that was the name she was known by to her family. Honey departed this world on May 23, 2015, in Jay, OK, at the age of 85 years old after a lengthy illness. Honey lived in rural Eucha,OK, area most of her life. She attended school at Gray, walking thru the woods to get there. She had beautiful handwriting and was very good in arithmetic. She had a wonderful memory up to her death, never forgetting anything, especially family history and birthdates. Honey married the love of her life at the young age of 16, a handsome young sailor, Leonard R. Hicks on March 4, 1946. He was a neighbor to the Williams family. They had one son, Russell R. Hicks. She is survived by sisters, Vida Morrow of Disney, OK, and Betsy Lawson of Langley, OK; brother Lonnie Williams and wife Fran of Eucha, OK, sister in laws, Barbara Williams of Owasso, OK, and Mary Stewart of Jay, OK; many loving nieces and nephews and other relatives; and special cousin Bruce Morrow and his wife Phyllis and family of Eucha, OK. Honey is preceded in death by both of her parents, Duke and Della Williams; her son, Russell R. Hicks and her husband Leonard R. Hicks, four brothers Bill Williams, Vaughn Williams, Johnny Williams and Clarence Stewert, and one sister, Ona Lee Lawson. She will be truly missed, along with her kindness and wisdom. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Worley- Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Jay, OK. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Mose Ridge Cemetery in Topsy, OK. Officiating will be Elder Robert Lawson. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, OK.
