Alta Marie (Morris) Williams, 90, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 7, 2021. Marie was born June 23, 1931, in Alluwe, OK, to John Bufford “JB” Morris and Myrtle Ann (Jenkins) Morris. Marie came from a large family being one of nine children in the home. On February 18, 1983, Marie married the love of her life, Dr. Harold Leon “Curley” Williams. She graduated from Delaware High School in 1949. In addition to her being a homemaker, she worked at Victory National Bank, retiring as Loan Officer after 36 years. She enjoyed tending to her roses and other flowers, cooking, entertaining the family, and spoiling the grandkids. Marie was a bird watcher, and especially enjoyed the hummingbirds. She was a completely devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great-grandmother, and friend. Marie made sure her that the needs of her family were met. She loved spending time with her family and loved them unconditionally. That same unconditional loved poured out of her to each one of her children and grandchildren without limitation. Marie’s family was her greatest accomplishment and her joy. Many people will be forever touched by the example she set with her kind words and actions. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Marie was preceded by her husband, Harold Williams; her parents, John, and Myrtle Morris; three children, Ronald Harvey, Floyd Harvey, Terry Harvey; four siblings, Buford Morris, Joseph Morris, Emma Swigart, and Irene Philly, two grandchildren, Amy Harvey, and Christopher Harvey.
She is survived by two grandchildren Pudge Harvey and wife Melissa, Kenny Harvey, and wife Janice; four siblings, Jack Morris, Ida Belle Harris, Edna Wood, Deloris Griggs; nine great grandchildren; special friend Jack Adams; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021, at the Chelsea Cemetery in Chelsea, OK, with Pastor Wendell Abbott officiating.
