Avice Peck

Avice Carmoletta (Carey) Peck, 83 year old longtime area resident, went to be with the Lord on Saturday July 6, 2013. She was born on January 26, 1930 in Grove to Bruce Freeman and Edith Ethel (Layman) Carey. Carmoletta was a 1948 graduate of Centralia High School, She married Clifford Ray Peck on July 25, 1948 at her parent's home in Miles Community. She worked for Eastern State Hospital in the food service department for over 20 years, retiring in 1991. Carmoletta was a member of the White Oak Home Demonstration Club and local Quilting Clubs. She was an excellent seamstress and quilter, and took special interest in her cooking and gardening. Carmoletta was a member of the Bunker Hill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, served as Clerk, Vacation Bible School Director and participated in many other activities with the church. Most of all she loved her family, she made a special effort to try to make all the grandchildren's special events. Preceding her in death were her husband, Clifford in 1998, her son, Clifford Bruce Peck in 2005, her siblings, George Edmond "Ed" Carey, Alice Doloros Carey Barnett, Woodrow Calvin Carey, Sigsbee Bruce Carey, William Freeman Carey and her parents. The surviving family includes: daughter in-law, Martha Peck, children, Albert Ray Peck and wife Kathy of Ponca City, Deborah Gail Wells and husband Charlie of Vinita, George Edward Peck and wife Beverly of Bakersfield, California; grandchildren, Ben Peck and wife Marji, Carey Wilson and husband John, Jared Peck, Jonathan Peck and his fiancee Elizabeth, Jennifer Peck, Jason Wells and wife Lindsey, Logan Wells and wife Elisha, Russell Peck and wife Heather, Audrey Peck, Sarah Widowski and husband Garrett; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Clayton Peck, Brycen Samuel Peck, Angelica Merina Wilson, Tatum Amelia Wells, Cole Ryan Wells, Jillian Carina Peck, Tobin Lewis Peck and Logan Carter Widowski. We would like to acknowledge Cecil Jr. and Joan Barnett and Avice and Jerry Legg. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunker Hill Baptist Church, with Pastors Skip McClain and Dean Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Timpson Chapel Cemetery. Friends may give to the Bunker Hill Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
