Barbara Jean (Dawson) Reed passed away October 27, 2019 at her home in the Big Cabin area. She was born January 02, 1955 in Peoria, Illinois the daughter of Fredrick Milford Dawson and Viola Mae (Jennings) Dawson. Barbara was raised in Hanna City, Illinois attending school and graduating from Farmington, Illinois. She began studying and attending college to become a nurse; finishing her LPN degree at Afton Vocational Technology School in 2006. Barbara had moved to Oklahoma in 1998 where she lived the remainder of her life. She and Joseph “Joe” Monroe Reed Jr. were married and had twenty wonderful years together.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Joe of the home Vinita; sister Karen (Dawson) Brashers and husband Todd Thome of Pekin , Illinois; brother Carl Dawson of Illinois; aunts Juanita Neuenschwander and husband Bruce of Pekin, Illinois, Geneva Tuell of Big Cabin; cousins Rick Tuell and wife Sherry of Pryor, David Dawson and wife Susan of Collinsville, Wiford Dawson of Collinsville, Kathy McCoy of Vinita, Leona Turner and husband Clifford of Skiatook, Alberta Triplet and husband Johnny of Mason City, Illinois; brother-in-law James “Beau” Reed and wife Carol of Pryor; sister-in-law Mary Sue Reed of Vinita; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery Vinita.
