Barry Blount

Barry Lynn Blount, 61 year-old Miami resident, died on Friday, August 31, 2007 in Joplin, Missouri. Barry was born May 18, 1946 in Vinita, to Julian and Norma (Epperson) Blount. He was a 1964 Vinita High School graduate. Barry retired from B. F. Goodrich after 30 years combined service in the Miami and Tuscaloosa Plants; he had also worked for Northwest Plumbing Supply in Tuscaloosa. Barry had been living in Miami since 2001 at the Heartland Plaza. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Miami. Barry liked to go to movies, read, fish and attending his grandchildren's ballgames. The family includes; his mother, Norma Blount of Vinita, three sons, Patrick Blount of Bernice, Stephen Blount of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Barry Blount, Jr. of Miami; two brothers, Dale Blount and Greg Blount both of Vinita; four grandchildren, Zach, Tyler, John and Harper Blount, also numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Julian Blount. The memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Luginbuel Chapel in Vinita, with Rev. Derrick Horne officiating. Interment will follow at the Ketchum Cemetery in Ketchum, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
