Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, OK........................... Bert Teel Jr., age 86, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015, at Cushing, Oklahoma. Bert Teel was born June 12, 1929, in Delaware, Oklahoma, to Bert Teel Sr. and Ola Mae Manard Teel. He grew up and was educated in Delaware, Ok. He married Joan Marie Tatum on November 10, 1952 in Nowata, Ok; she predeceased him in l980. He married Uvella Jean Lewis in l981 and they lived in Cushing, Ok for many years. He is also survived by his son Rocky Teel and his wife Lynda of Oologah; and his son Rodney Teel and his wife Lillie Amanda of Cushing. He had four grandchildren, Amy Smith and husband J. Cody of Mesquite, Texas; Jennifer Teel of Oologah, OK, Robert Teel and Reagan Teel, both of Cushing. He had one great-grandchild, Tatum Smith of Mesquite, Texas. His sister Beverly Lockery of Drumright also survives; he was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Edward and Tom Teel, Mr. Teel went to New Mexico in 1952, later moving to Shamrock, Texas, following the natural gas business. He retired as Field Superintendent for El Paso Natural Gas Company after 33 years and moved to Cushing. During his retirement Bert worked ten to twelve hours every day repairing lawnmowers and other small motors. Visitation for Mr. Teel will be Monday, July 13, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Benjamin Funeral Service, 114 West Cherokee in Nowata. Services for Mr. Teel are 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. They will be officiated by Rev. Wendell Abbott. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata at honoringmemories.com.
