Betty Jo Beu, 88, a long-time resident of Nowata, Oklahoma, passed from this life into eternal rest into the arms of her Lord and Savior on January 2, 2022. Betty took her first breath of life on June 9, 1934, in Boise City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Carl Holmes and Stella Marie (Stubert) Campbell.
After moving around several places, Betty’s family moved to Childers, Oklahoma, when Betty was 8. Betty attended and graduated from Delaware High School. On June 22, 1950, Betty married Earnest Eugene “Gene” Beu in the countryside of Nowata County.
The couple were blessed with 4 children: Edwin, Danny, Sherry and Sandra. When Betty’s children were young, she stayed home with them and raised them. Betty took her job as a homemaker very seriously, tending to the needs of her family and her home. When her children were older, she began working as a grocery store clerk at IGA, and later Landers Grocery. After that, Betty began working at the Nowata Hospital doing data entry. Betty was proud of her position at the Nowata Hospital, and she remained there until retirement.
Betty was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Betty’s favorite thing to do was to read books. Betty will be missed by all who knew her.
