Betty Boyd

Betty J Boyd, 77, a resident of Grove passed away at her home on Thursday, September 3, 2009. She was born on December 5, 2009 in Memphis, Tennessee to C.B. and Ruby D. (Haney) Gordon. Betty Graduated from Joplin High School. She later married Roy L Boyd on November 19, 1949 in Joplin, Missouri. They lived in Webb City, Missouri for twenty-two years and then moved to Grove and have lived here for Thirty-two years. Mrs. Boyd was a Den Mother, Room mother, Relieve Society president for the Mormon Church. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Grove. Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents, along with her son Roger Boyd and two brothers Larry Gordon and Richard Gordon. Survivors include her children: Richard Boyd of Carterville, Missouri, Ron Boyd of Springfield, Missouri, Colleen Spear of Dime Box, TX, Roy Boyd and his wife Tracie of Gulfport, Mississippi, Ryan Boyd of Webb City, Missouri, Randy Boyd and his wife Terri of Grove and Robert Boyd, a brother Paul Boyd of Joplin, Missouri, a sister Barbara Carter of California, twenty-one Grandchildren and twenty Great Grandchildren. Chapel services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove with Brother Michael Bridges and Brother Justin Gibson. Interment will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Casketbearers will be her grandsons Roy Allen Boyd, TJ Boyd, Lucas Boyd, Rodney Boyd, Justin Boyd and Josh Boyd. Honorary Casktbearers are Steven Boyd and Tim Boyd.
