Betty June (Beck) Inman was born on January 9, 1941 in Chelsea, Oklahoma to Caldwell and June (Ricks) Beck. Betty passed away peacefully on April 10, 2023 at the age of 82 in Nowata, Oklahoma.
Betty attended and was very active in Chelsea High School. She was voted senior class secretary-treasurer, a FHA officer, FFA Sweetheart, a member of the cheerleading team, and participated in Mixed Chorus and basketball. She also gained the title of Prettiest Eyes her senior year.
On April 14, 1960, Betty married the love of her life, Harvey Jack Inman (Jack). After a few years of working at the Phillips Petroleum Research Center, she made the decision to help Jack run their dairy farm, where they would milk approximately 60 cows twice a day. It quickly became a family operation with the birth of their daughter, Julie, and soon to follow son, C. Jack (Jackie). Together the family worked hard and enjoyed the dairy lifestyle for 16 years, when Betty took on a new role as a local mail carrier. She enjoyed getting to visit with all of the residents on her route and was well-liked in return, regularly receiving gifts, baked goods, and notes in the mailboxes.
Once grandchildren entered the family, Betty retired from her mail route to become a full time grandmother. Her whole world revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty would often be found on school field trips, sporting events, livestock shows, or teaching the kids how to tend to her famous gardens. Her favorite saying was “I don’t care what they call me, as long as they call me,” and she had several beloved titles. Names such as Betty, Mom, Sister, Grandma, GaGa, and each calling was near and dear to her heart.
Betty is survived by husband H. Jack Inman of the home, daughter Julie Hollenbeck and husband Dean of Nowata, son C. Jack Inman of Delaware, 4 grandchildren, Jered Hunter and wife Amber of Beaver, Oklahoma, Jasey Forth and husband Tim of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Chad Inman and wife Brooke of Childers, Oklahoma, Rowdy Inman and wife Beka of Delaware, Oklahoma, 6 great grandchildren, Tucker Forth, Tinley Forth, Ava Inman, Sally Inman, Conway Inman, and Turner Inman, brother Charles Beck and wife Vicki of Oologah, and many other family and friends.
