Betty Lou Samples, 89, of Nowata, passed away on Monday, August, 26, 2019. Betty was born in Colorado on July 9, 1930 to Arvel and Viola Green.
She graduated from Casper High School in Wyoming. Betty married William Samples in 1949. In the early 1960’s they moved to Nowata where Betty worked for Dr. Flora for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Amaranth Masonic Lodge in Bartlesville. When she was younger Betty enjoyed bowling, golfing, and loved traveling with friends on motorcycle trips to Canada, Mexico, and places all across America. Betty enjoyed Bingo and games of chance, as well as sewing and crocheting. She was a very loving wife, mother, G-ma and great-grandmother. She had a special place in her heart for each and every one of her family members. Betty will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding Mrs. Samples in death are her parents Arvel and Viola Green, one brother Ray Green, and a grandson Charles (Chuck) Gilstrap.
Survivors include a son William Samples Jr. of Nowata; a daughter, Rhonda Flowers and husband Bobby of Stillwater, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Andrea Stamper and husband Larry, Nancy Malone and husband Mark, Lisa Choate and husband Matt; great grandchildren, Kelsey Stamper, Karson Stamper, Treabein Liston, Lydia Gavrila, Camden Choate, Liam Choate, Skyler Malone, Elizabeth Malone; brother-in-law, Jack Samples of Hays, Kansas; Sister-in-law, Margaret Alsam and husband Larry of Terre Haute, Indiana; a very special daughter in law Carol Samples; many other relatives as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Samples 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Cornerstone Family Church. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com
