Betty Walker

Betty Irene Walker, 85, a resident of Grove passed away at Integris Grove General Hospital on Friday, April 16, 2010. She was born in Leo, Indiana on December 11, 1924 to Elmer and Orpha (Van Zile) Akey. Betty graduated from Leo High School in Leo Indiana. She married her love of sixty-five years Dale Walker on March 17, 1945 in Colorado. She was a member of Saint Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Grove and loved to volunteer with the Cherry Reds at the hospital in Grove. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parent's one brother William Akey and one sister Ilene Smith. Survivors include her husband Dale Walker of the home, four children Judy Totty and husband Bob of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gloria Dimit and husband John of Wichita, Kansas, Larry Walker and his wife Tura of Wildomar, California and Beverly Miller and husband Mike of Lincoln, Nebraska. She had seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. There will be a Visitation and time of remembrance with the family from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove on Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
