Bobby Geary

Bobby D. Geary, age 86, and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015, in the Hillcrest Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bobby Dale Geary was born December 24, 1928 in Dewey, Oklahoma. He was the son of Dale A Geary and Nellie "Pearl" (Spaulding) Geary. He grew up in Dewey where he received his early education. He graduated high school from Chelsea, Oklahoma. After graduation, he entered the U.S. Army where he served honorably, having attained the rank of Sergeant. After his honorable discharge, he lived in Walnut, Kansas where he married his bride, the former Patricia Ann Dowling, on April 11, 1953. She preceded him in death on December 9, 1997. In 1963, Bobby moved to Bartlesville. He owned and operated Geary Welding in Dewey, OK . In his retirement he rebuilt and sold welders. He had been a member of St. John Catholic Church in Bartlesville for 30 + years. Other memberships included the American Legion. Bobby enjoyed hunting for quail and pheasant. His greatest enjoyment, however, came from being with his family. Survivors include his companion of 16 years, Dorothy Swanson of Eucha, Oklahoma; daughters, Linda Shearer and her husband, Joel, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Lisa Geary of Bartlesville; two grandchildren, Mason Burchett and Nick Henshaw; one great grandchild, Nicholas Henshaw; and sister, Charolette Stelljes of Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Patricia. A Rosary service will be held on Thursday, January 29, at 7:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Service for Mr. Geary will be held on Friday, January 30, at 10:00 AM, in St. John Catholic Church. Interment will follow the service in the Dewey City Cemetery.
