Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma...................... Bonnie Louise Bowden, age 72, passed away at her rural Vinita residence on Saturday, November 14, 2015. She was born on April 9, 1943, in Perkins, Oklahoma, to George U. and Tillie Mae (Hagar) Bateson. She lived in Perkins throughout childhood and graduated from high school in Perkins in 1963. Bonnie met Joe H. Bowden in Perkins and married him on June 4, 1967. They moved to rural Vinita and have lived there since. She was a true homemaker and loved quilting and sewing, but loved her family most of all. She was a member of Twin Bridges Home Demonstration Club and participated in many club activities. Bonnie, with her family, attended Watova Full Gospel Church. Bonnie Bowden is survived by her husband, Joe H. Bowden, of the home. She is also survived by three sons, Mike, Mark and Keith and his wife Sherri, all of rural Vinita. She had four grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, Justin and Dillon Bowden, all of rural Vinita. Bonnie is also survived by two brothers and one sister, John Henry Bateson of rural Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Gary Wayne Bateson and his wife Phyllis, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Janell Bateson Punches and her husband Bob, of Corpus Christi, Texas. Bonnie leaves sisters-in-law, Dorothy Pregler of Chelsea, Oklahoma, Glenda Bateson of Stillwater, Wilma Jean Yirsa of Nowata, Oklahoma, Ruby Henegar of Duncanville, Texas, and Esther Morris of Delaware, Oklahoma, and one brother-in-law, Virgil Bowden of Alvin, Texas. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Annabelle Pennington, Pauline Harting and Juanita Bateson, and two brothers, Leon Bateson and an infant brother. Services for Bonnie Louise Bowden will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel in Nowata, Oklahoma, and will be officiated by Reverend Joe Goodin of the Watova Full Gospel Church. Burial will follow at Martin Cemetery, east of Nowata. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service, 114 West Cherokee, Nowata, Oklahoma, www.honoringmemories.com.
