Burnis Irene (Clopp) McMurtrey, 88-year-old Delaware resident, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2021, at The Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Burnis was born January 16, 1933, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Henry Leo Clopp and Gladys Heady (Folk) Clopp. She attended Bartlesville Public School where she received her education. Burnis married the love of her life Calvin Ray McMurtrey in the early 1950’s. They cherished two children together Anthoney McMurtrey and Dee McMurtrey. Burnis worked for Union Bank & Trust which later became West Star Bank of Bartlesville for over 25 years. She was a very talented woman and a hard worker. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, sewing and crafts. Burnis greatest accomplishment was her family, whom she loved unconditionally and always made sure their needs were met. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Burnis will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by husband Calvin Ray McMurtrey, her parents, Henry and Gladys Clopp; one brother Clinton Clopp and one great-great grandson, Jackson McMurtrey.

Survivors include her two children Dee McGrew and husband Lynn, Anthoney McMurtrey and wife Arlene, two grandchildren; Christopher McMurtrey and wife Erin, Shannon Moore, and husband Josh; three great grandchildren; Carson McMurtrey, Olivia Moore, Max Moor; two sister, Joyce Snow and husband Lewis, Sharon Webster and husband Rick; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Ochelata Cemetery in Ochelata, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com
