Carl Benigar

Carl E. Benigar Carl Edwin Benigar was born May 1, 1924, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, to Bert A. and Emma E. (Leedy) Benigar. He died Tuesday, October 03, 2006, in the Claremore Veterans Center, after reaching 82 years, 5 months, and 2 days. Mr. Benigar attended Collinsville schools. He worked with his father on a 120 acre farm from 1939 to 1944 at which time he enter the United States Army. He served his country as a wire chief, telephone and telegraph supervisor. In 1946 he was separated from the Army. On January 22, 1950, he married Barbara June Griggs, in Skiatook. They made their home in the Collinsville area until they moved to Nowata in 1968 where he operated a dairy farm. Mr. Benigar enjoyed fishing, bird hunting and talking. He loved family gatherings where he could spend time with his family and talk and joke. Traveling and seeing new places brought him much enjoyment. He loved to talk about the places he traveled to. He will be missed by all who knew him. Preceding Mr. Benigar in death are his parents; a son, Gerald Benigar; brothers, Louis, Ray, David and Bobby Benigar; and sisters, Ethel Lowery, and Evelyn Smallygo. Surviving Mr. Benigar are his wife Barbara, of the home, sons, Carl Jr. and Lynn, both of Nowata, daughter Elizabeth, and her husband Woody Teel, of Nowata, 4 grandchildren, Maria Wooten, Mindy Hobson, Christopher Benigar, and April Dawn Pettit, 4 great grandchildren, sister, Jewel Davidson, of California, many other relatives friends and loved ones.
