Carl L. Crume, age 76 and longtime Bartlesville, Oklahoma resident, passed away in St. John Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday, February 22, 2019.
Carl Luther Crume was born on April 8, 1942 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. He was the son of Rupert F. Crume and Goldie Mae (Gibson) Crume. He was raised in rural areas of Bartlesville. He attended school in the Okesa-Nelagoney and Bartlesville areas. After graduating high school, he lived not only in Oklahoma, but California and Key West, Florida. He was a member of the U.S. Navy prior to receiving his honorable discharge.
Carl was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed being with his friends. He also loved to dance which he did every chance he got. For many years after his father passed away, Carl was a caretaker for his mother, Goldie. He was very attentive to her needs and was always close by her side.
Carl was married to Naomi (Allton) Crume and they had two daughters, Carla and Carol. Carl was a construction contractor in Bartlesville for many years. He made many friends through his business transactions. He leaves behind, not only his two daughters, but many, many friends throughout Bartlesville and the surrounding areas.
Survivors include his daughters, Carla Mantooth and her husband, Brooks, of Havana, Kansas and Carol Tucker and her husband, Ronnie, of Barnsdall, Oklahoma; two brothers, Gene Crume and his wife, Shirley, of Guthrie, Oklahoma and Burt Crume and his wife, Linda, of Gentry, Arkansas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Ruth Marie Crume in 1950.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Carl's memory to Virginia Avenue Baptist Church, Bartlesville.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at 11:00 AM in Virginia Avenue Baptist Church. Pastor Wallace Thames will be the officiant.
