Charlene Souders

N. Charlene Souders, Grove resident, formerly of Bartlesville, died early Friday morning January 11, 2013 at the age of 89 years. Charlene was born on March 1, 1923 in Gilbert, AR to her parents, Joseph and Beryl (Nicholson) Sanderson. She graduated from Sperry High School and attended business school after graduating. Charlene married the love of her life, Lewis Souders, in Tulsa, OK on October 29, 1945. They lived in Bartlesville while working for Phillips Petroleum. Charlene worked as a Payroll clerk until her retirement in May of 1985. Charlene and Lewis moved to Grove later that year, where they have lived ever since. They both absolutely loved living at the lake. Charlene enjoyed playing bridge, going on cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska and Hawaii; entertaining friends; spending time with her family. Charlene and Lewis enjoyed traveling the country on the family vacations every summer when the kids were growing up. Charlene is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Judy Kay Stuart; and a grandson, Kyle Wayne Henry. She leaves many loving memories with her family, husband, Lewis; son, Larry Souders and wife Vickie; daughter, Marcia Henry and husband, Bob; son-in-law, Ronald Stuart; sisters, Wilma Worley, Carrie Jo Long and husband Lloyd, and Betty Hamilton; grandchildren, Jeff Leinen and wife Tracey, Scott Henry, Brett Henry and wife Erika; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Leinen, Jamisyn Leinen, Riley Henry and Zoey Henry; and many other loving relatives, and a host of friends. Family will receive friends at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday evening January 15, 2013. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday January 16, 2013 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Rainbolt officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville, OK. Memorials may be made in Charlene's name to a charity of your choice.
