Charles Curl

Charles Clinton Curl went to walk with his Father in Heaven this 19th day of January 2012. Charles was born March 11th, 1924, in Depew Oklahoma. Born to Marion C and Eugina Rowden Curl. He grew up in Pryor, Oklahoma. Raised by foster parents His uncle Fred and Aunt Stella Curl. Charles attended school in the Pryor school system. He enlisted in the US army on December 27th, 1942. He was stationed at Fort Sill Oklahoma. A Field lineman and Rifle Marksman, serving overseas 24 months in Australia, New Guinea, Dutch New Guinea, Netherlands East Indies, Philippines and Japan. He was awarded the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, and the Good Conduct Medal. He married the love of his life Reta Dooley, on the 1st of July 1948. At the First Church of God In Pryor Oklahoma. Married for 63 years. They made their new home in Illnois where Charles then worked at St. Charles Kitchens as a welder for the next 20 years. In 1967 they moved to Vinita Oklahoma where they bought a ranch west of Vinita. Charles was employed in Oklahoma by Co-op of Afton, Neil Cattle Company and Eastern State Hospital for 9 years where he retired to work on his ranch, enjoy wood carving and spend time with his family & friends. He has been proceeded in death by his parents and foster parents, survived by his wife: Reta Curl and six children and their spouses: Charles and Kenna Curl of Grove,Oklahoma, Jeffrey and Tanya Curl of Cocoa Florida, Diana Stanfill of Layton Utah, Bruce and Shawn Curl of Grove,Oklahoma, Cynthia and Cliff Short of Tahlaquah, Oklahoma, Brian and Guyla Curl of Pittsburg Kansas. Thirteen Grand children and four Great Grand Children. Visitation will be Monday January 23rd at Luginbuel Funeral Home from 7-9pm, Funeral Tuesday January 24th 10am, burial to follow at fair view cemetery, Vinita, Oklahoma.
