Charles Robert Douglas, 65, of Nowata died Monday February 4, 2013 at Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville. He was born December 18, 1947 in Nowata to Albert Douglas and Inez (Vandervort) Douglas. He was raised and educated at Lenapah and South Coffeyville schools then served in the US Army in Viet Nam. Charlie and Anna Pauline Spohn were united in marriage on April 9, 1981 in Coffeyville, Kansas and have lived in Nowata for the past twenty one years. He has worked for the City of Nowata in the Sanitation Department for the last eleven years. He loved his ole dogs, watching sports, especially football, wrestling, and NASCAR on television as well as spending time with family. Survivors include his wife Pauline of 32 years, 5 children, Angie Sharp of Topeka, KS, Danny White of Delaware, OK, Charles Douglas Jr. of Arkansas, Tammy Douglas of Bartlesville, OK and Marsha Romines of South Coffeyville, OK, 1 sister, Janet Penrod of South Coffeyville, OK and 1 brother John Douglas of Coffeyville, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Graveside Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday Feb. 8, 2013 at Martin Cemetery with Pastor John Lockabee officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 7 from 5:00 until 7:00 at Benjamin Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
