Charles Stanley

Charles Wayne Stanley, 63, owner of Stanley Tire Shop and Nowata resident, died Saturday March 14, 2009 in the Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center. Charles Wayne Stanley was born the son of Mack Clayton Stanley and Leda Jane Campbell on April 24, 1945 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, The Family moved from Keota, Oklahoma to Broken Arrow where Charles graduated from the Broken Arrow High School in 1963. Charles and Sandra Jean Seals were united in marriage on December 22, 1981 in Miami, Ok. Charles was a hard working man all of his life, he hauled heavy equipment for Curran Houston pipeline for many years before moving to Nowata in 1983. He owned Marty's Mini Mart until 1989 and then owned Stanley Tire Shop until August of 2006 when he retired due to bad health. Charles enjoyed horse racing and loved being with his family and friends and was a good father. Charles is survived by his wife Sandra Stanley of the home, children Raquel Mathis of Norman, Ok, Lisa Stacy of Nowata and Rick Sudderth of Nowata, grandchildren Brandy Mulliken, Jason Sudderth, Gunter Sudderth and Madyson Sudderth, great grandchildren Haylee Mulliken and Blake Sudderth, three brothers Kenneth C. Stanley and his wife Norma of Keller, Tx, Mack G. Stanley of Broken Arrow, Ok and David A. Stanley of Broken Arrow, Ok, Nephew Mickey Stanley, Nieces Debra Stanley, Lacee Stanley, and Michelle Gosley, brother in law Gary Miller of Alluwe. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Brother James V. Stanley, two sister in law's Lois Stanley and Sally Miller. The Stanley family would like to extend special thanks to, Guyla Watters, First Christian Church, Nurses and Aides, Dr. David Caughell and Jane Phillips Hospital. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Stanley will be held on Wednesday March 18, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery with Ben Killion officiating.
