Charles Frederick “Fred” Miller, 86, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Fred was born on November 24, 1935, to Walter and Opal (Sutherland) Miller in Nowata, Oklahoma. He grew up in the Nowata area and began working at a very young age. He met Laurel Lea Leighty and the couple married in Bartlesville, OK on July 16, 1956. The couple first made their home in Dewey, OK. They then moved to Vinita, OK for about 3 years, and finally moved back to Nowata, where the couple has resided since. Fred had a successful career being self-employed, maintaining and servicing oil wells until his retirement.

Fred was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Nowata.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; Walter and Opal Miller, a daughter; Rhonda Miller, and two brothers; Edward Jerome “King” Miller and Edgar Deloss “Sonny” Miller.

Fred is survived by his wife, Laurel Lea Miller of Nowata, OK, his son and daughter-in-law; Fredrick Lee “Bub” and Valisa Miller of Nowata, OK, his daughter and son-in law; Lyle and Colleen Weimer of Mountain Home, AR, his grandson and spouse; Brandon and Kaitlynn Miller of Phenix City, AL, his granddaughter; Alisha Weimer of Allen, TX, his great-grandson; Barrett Miller of Clarksville, TN, two sisters; Eleanor “Babe” Collier of Bartlesville, OK and Eloise “Beth” Bates of Chouteau, OK, and two brothers; Eslane “Buzzy” Wayne Miller of West Virginia and Darrel “Dub” Miller of Nowata, OK.
