Ross Tharp Graveside funeral services for Ross Tharp will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2007, at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Lenapah, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Home, of Nowata. Clifford Ross Tharp was born April 17, 1924, in Lenapah, Oklahoma, to Clifford Ernest and Gertrude (Ross) Tharp. He passed from this life Wednesday, June 20, 2007, in Nowata, after reaching 83 years, 2 months, and 3 days. He graduated from Lenapah High School in 1942, and on June 17, 1943 he entered the United States Army; serving his country during World War II. On December 30, 1956 he married Helen Lenora Highfield and they have lived in the Lenapah and Delaware areas since. Mr. Tharp loved his work in the oil fields. He later worked for John Deer and retired from there. His family was very close to his heart. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. Preceding Mr. Tharp in death are his parents, Ernest, and Gertrude Tharp; and a brother Dale Tharp. Surviving Mr. Tharp are his wife Helen, of the home in Delaware, sons, Steve Tharp, and his wife Sandy, and Kevin Tharp, both of Delaware, grandchildren, Christy Bashford, and her husband Kurt, Pam Tharp, Kimberly Stewart, and her husband Jeff, Amanda Tharp, Great-grandchildren, Caleb Bashford, and Brandon Wagoner; many other relatives, friends, and loved ones. The family request donations to the 10-33 Ambulance Team, 321 E. Cherokee, Nowata, Ok. 74048.
