Curtis Jay Morrison Sr., of Coffeyville, Ks passed away on August 16th, 2021, at the age of 74.
Curtis entered this world on November 27th, 1946, to Joan (Duvall) and Harold J. Morrison in Nowata Oklahoma. He attended schools at Nowata, OK, and Caney Ks during his youth and attended high school at Coffeyville, Ks. During high school Curtis met Dorothy (Tate) Fultz they married in 1965. Two children were born of that union Curtis Jr and Tammie.
Curtis married Margaret (Jones) 1985, she survives of Vinita, Ok. No children of this union however they enjoyed several fur babies during their marriage.
Curtis worked as a machinist tool and die maker most of his adult life. In his later years he worked for Svedala Company, as a millwright which sent him overseas to Korea and China where he lived before his illness required him to retire in 2003. Brining home several souvenirs for his grandchildren.
He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. Most everywhere he went he had his dog with him. Curt had several dogs throughout his lifetime with his final pup Awol who survives of the home.
Curt was known to be a bit of a ladies' man in his prime – many times he could be found enjoying a cold beer, camel nonfilter, telling endless stories of his adventures. He could quote every line of every western ever made. Curtis could only be found wearing starched and ironed wranglers- Curtis was always dressed to impress.
Curtis was proceeded in death by his Mother Joan, Dad Loren Coffey Sr., his father Harold Morrison, Brother Loren (Wayne) Coffey Jr, sisters Betty Giese, and Patricia Tate.
He is survived by siblings Anna (Jim) Allen of Duneweg, Mo, Debi (Ron) Sjolander of Parsons', Ks and brother John Morrison of Westville, Ok.
Children Curtis J. Morrison Jr of Fairfax, Ok, Daughter Tammie (Franklin) Byrd of Coffeyville, Ks.
Grandchildren Beau (Breena) Morrison of Kansas City Mo, Joshua Elliott of Independence, Mo. Morgan (Danny) Gibson of Joplin, Mo and Nick Morrison of Ottawa, Ks.
Great grandsons Aleckzander of Wichita, Ks, Owen Gibson of Joplin, Mo, and unborn Theodore Morrison of Kansas City, Mo.
Graveside Services will be at Nowata Memorial Cemetery August 23rd, 2021, at 2pm.
