Cynthia (Cyndi) Deleese Davenport- James was born August 2nd, 1949 to James and Josephine Davenport. Cyndi or as many called her “Granny” made her journey to Heaven on Wednesday, September 20th,2023. Cyndi became saved by the Lord in August of 1964, as a devoted Christian Cyndi went on to graduate High School at Pampa High in 1967 and obtained her nursing degree in 1969 from Pampa Highland General Hospital in Pampa Texas. The following year on December 30th, 1970 Cyndi married the love of her life Jimmy B. James and the two started their family. In 1971 the couple’s first daughter Faith was born in the arms of Jesus. The following year in 1972 baby Sawyer also gained his angel wings. After many tears, countless prayers and endless faith, in 1974 Cyndi and Jim welcomed their daughter Cherity Deleese James and in 1976 the couple added one more bundle of joy, their youngest daughter Kristen Hope James.
After having her children Cyndi went on to get her Degree in Business Administration, with Real Estate and Ranch Management from Claremore Jr. College class of 1982. Soon after, she graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1984 with her degree in Elementary Education. As if that wasn’t enough Cyndi also obtained her master’s and doctorate degree in ministry from Jackson Theological Seminary.
While working on the James farm, homeschooling her two daughters, assisting in the X-Ray Business, and spending her time with the family race horses, Cyndi enjoyed: the word of God, sewing, traveling, (especially on cruises that included mischief with her adopted family Renne’ and Roy Ramsey),shopping, N-A-P’s, and she especially loved her family horses, good baked foods and most of all being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Cyndi was known for her whit, love of God and her ability to boss Jim like no other, but of you ask any of the kids that spent time around the James’ home they would say the one of the biggest memories they have is Cyndi’s endless candy drawer.
Cyndi will be greeted at the pearly gates by many passed on loved ones including her children Faith and Sawyer, several grand and great-grand babies and all of her pretty horses.
Cyndi is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years Jim James, her Mother Josephine (Jo) Davenport of Miami, Sister Colleen (Cokee) Montgomery and her husband Tommy of Miami, Brother Anthony (Tony) Davenport and wife Janice of Oklahoma, Cyndi is also survived by her adopted son Mike Branen and wife Susan of Talala, Jim and Cyndi’s renounced daughter Cherity James-Harper-Fortna-Walker of Broken Arrow.
