D.A. STARK Mrs. D.A. Stark, 86 years old, died Wednesday September 17, 2008 in Springfield, Missouri. Mrs. Stark was born on February 1, 1922 the daughter of John Kilgore Eggleston and Harriet (Holt) Eggleston, in Pleasanton, Kansas. The family soon moved to Seminole, Oklahoma where she was raised and educated graduating Valedictorian of Varnum High School. D.A. then attended and graduated from the St. Johns School of nursing in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She entered the United States Naval Reserve and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant J.G. during World War II. While serving at Mare Island, California she met Christopher Paul Stark and they married in Long Beach, California on March 13, 1946. After the service the Starks moved to Bartlesville where Chris was employed with the Phillips Petroleum Company and D.A. worked for Jane Phillips Hospital. She then worked with Dr. L.B. Word as his office nurse until Dr. Word's retirement. She was then employed with National Zinc until her retirement as the Occupational Health Nurse and Human Resources Manager. D.A. was very active in the Bartlesville community. She was an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church, served on many boards and belonged to numerous civic groups, clubs and organizations. Mrs. Stark is survived by one son Christopher J. Stark and his wife Lou Ann of Springfield, Missouri; Lou Ann was her loving caregiver since she moved to Springfield. One daughter Mary Ann Allred and her husband Bob of Ketchum, Oklahoma. Three grandchildren: Kristen Le Force and her husband Michael of Dallas, Texas; Christopher Stark, currently serving in the United States Marine Corps and Scott Allred and his wife Maryann as well as D.A.'s great grandson John Vincent of Tulsa, Oklahoma and many loving and caring friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother Charles Raymond Eggleston and one brother-in-law Robert Warren Stark. A memorial has been established with the First Presbyterian Church and those who wish to contribute may do so in lieu of flowers and sent to: 505 South Dewey Bartlesville, OK 74003. On-line condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com. Memorial services for Mrs. Stark will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 22nd at the First Presbyterian Church of Bartlesville. The Reverend Andrew S. Odom will be presiding over the services. Interment will follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
