David Moore

David L. Moore, age 69, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 23, 2012. David was born May 9, 1942. He was the son of Vernon and Sally Moore in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He grew up in Bartlesville and attended College High School. David was a dedicated patriot who served in the Air Force with the Strategic Air Command, 340th Bomb Wing, Armament and Electronics Squadron in Airborne Communications and Navigation. After receiving an Honorary Discharge in 1963, he returned to Bartlesville and married Carolyn Sue Dobbs, his wife of 37 years. She preceded him in death in 2001. He later married Deanna Loggan on June 22, 2002 in Bartlesville. David worked for Bendix Field Engineering as a Field Engineer on NASA projects that included Gemini 6 through Gemini 12, Apollo One and many scientific satellites and projects, during which time he was stationed at Tananarive Madagascar. Later, David was employed by IBM as the Field Engineering Account Representative for Conoco in Ponca City for 17 years. He had many interests that included owning and operating two retail photographic supply stores in the Bartlesville and Ponca City areas. He was an accomplished photographer with memberships in Professional Photographers of Oklahoma and Professional Photographers of America where he received numerous awards for his photographic work. He also taught photography at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa. After closing the stores, David was employed at Pioneer Area Vo Tech in Ponca City as a Computer Specialist until 1990. He returned to Bartlesville to accept a position as a Senior Analyst in the IT Division of Phillips Petroleum. He spent 15 years with ConocoPhillips and retired in 2005. After retirement, David was an avid camper and loved exploring his beloved country. Loving husband, selfless father, adoring grandfather, David Lee Moore was full of life and lived each day to the fullest. He gave much of himself to others and enthusiastically valued those closest to him. He is survived by his wife, Deanna; his son, Patrick; a granddaughter, Molly Moore Bell and her husband, Landon; and a great-grandson, Ryder. David was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Sue Moore; parents, Vernon and Sally Moore; and his first wife, Carolyn Sue Moore.
