Della Smith

Della went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 10, 2021, with joy and great expectations.

If you knew Della, you know how much she loved God and Jesus Christ more than word could ever express. Della was known by many as a powerful prayer warrior. She talked to her Lord many times, day and night; some people felt she had a direct line to Jesus. Her prayer list was long but very effective. Her first priority was always her Savior, Jesus Christ, then her family, whom she loved with all her heart.

Della was born, February 28, 1941, in Shamrock, OK. She was the youngest of 11 siblings, including her twin sister Stella, by 20 minutes.

She was born to Benjamin Owensby and Zeffie (Gooch) Owensby, of Shamrock, OK. She graduated from Cushing High School in May of 1959.

Della was preceded in death by her living parents, Ben and Zeffie, 3 brothers: Dale, Kenneth, and Tommy Owensby, 5 sisters, Vivian Criner, Juanita McCain, Ruby Clary, Jackie Cannon, her precious twin Stella and her special angel from the Lord, Landon Jacob (Superman) Smith.

Della is survived by her husband of 62 years Lewie, her son and daughter in law, Tony and Vicki Smith of Stillwater, daughter and son in law Tammy and Billy Kelly of Nowata, her grandchildren Summer Been, Bryce Williams, Cierra Thomas and Lyle Smith, Will Kelly, Rylee Kelly and Jace Kelly and one great grandson Eden Thomas. Two siblings Dorothy Cannon, and Freida Watkins.

Della was a member at Hillside Christian Church where she was active in several groups and committees. She lived teaching the Son Beam class, a class for adults with special needs. She lived all her "kids" including her son Lanny.

Visitation is from 9am to 5pm at the Benjamin Funeral Service Nowata, Ok.  Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday December 14, 2021, at Hillside Christian Church Nowata, Ok with Will Kelly officiating.
