Funeral services for Delorise Maxine Maggard, 71, are 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the First Baptist Church with DR. Larry DeLay officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service. Delorise Maxine Maggard passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at her home in Nowata. She was born July 3, 1941 in Nowata to Emma (Blanke) and Joe Smalley. She was a 1959 graduate of Nowata High School and on November 25, 1961 she married Bill Maggard in Nowata. After they were married, they spent four years in Spain, as Bill was in the military. They later made their home in Nowata where they have lived since. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nowata. Delorise loved flowers and gardening. She was an avid reader and read everything she could get her hands on. She enjoyed traveling and cooking for her family and in her service at her church. Her main interest was her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and other family members were dear to her heart. She loved caring for them and being with them. Each one of them had a special place in her heart. She will be missed by all her family and friends. Delorise is survived by her husband Bill of the home; three children, Billie Maggard, JR., Terri Parrett, and Ronald Maggard and wife Katy, all of Nowata; three siblings, Billy Joe Smalley of Tulsa, Betty Smalley of Springfield, MO, Ronald Smalley of Nowata; seven grandchildren, Joshua Maggard, Chelsea Parrett, Jacob Maggard, Lindsey Parrett, Jesse Maggard, Addison Maggard, Ella Kate Maggard. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Emma Smalley. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
