Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261. Donald Ray Edmondson was born in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, December 23, 1931. He placed his faith in Jesus at the age of nine at the First Baptist church in Miami, Oklahoma. Don grew up in Tulsa, graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1950 and married his high school sweetheart, Marita Patrick, in 1951. For the next 30 years he served as minister of music and youth in Southern Baptist Churches in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee and Florida. He was employed as a salesman for thirteen years and retired from Lifeway Christian Resources in 1995. He was an ordained deacon. Don and Marita moved to Monkey Island in 1996 and joined the fellowship of Lake Center Baptist Church. On June 23, 2016 Don went to be with his Lord. He is survived by, his wife Marita, step-mother Ellen Edmondson, step-brothers Clyde and Reid Allen, two daughters, Donna Terry and Diana Cain of Tulsa, son Dan Edmondson and wife Anne of Chester, New Hampshire, four grand-children and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Iva and Blaine Edmondson, son, David Earl Edmondson and grandson, Michael Stephens Edmondson. A visitation will be held from 2-4 PM, Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 at Lake Center Baptist Church with Reverend Kim Hays officiating. Donald will be laid to rest at 2:30 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lake Center Baptist Church fund.
