Benjamin Funeral Service - Donald Joe Jackson, 79 year old Owasso resident passed away at his home in Owasso, December 19, 2014. He was born June 28, 1935, in Chelsea, Oklahoma, to John Melvin and Wealthy Lucille (Hayworth) Jackson. Don was a welder and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was married to Pearl Lakey and they had two sons, Joe and Rocky Jackson. In the late 70's he moved from Collinsville to the Owasso area in Rogers County. Pearl passed away and later on he married Beverly McIntyre on April 1, 1995. Don enjoyed the outdoors and music. He could play several different stringed instruments. He loved working outdoors on anything that needed fixed. If it had a motor, he could fix it. Don didn't know a stranger. He loved talking to people and would talk to anyone he met. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He had a special place in his heart for every one of his family and friends. Don will be missed by all who knew him. Preceding Don Jackson in death are his parents John and Wealthy Jackson, and three brothers, Dale John and Ronald Louis Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Jackson, of the home; children, Joe Jackson, of Owasso, Rocky Jackson and wife Leanne of Tulsa, Charlie Greenless, of Tucson, Arizona, Elizabeth York, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Joyce Johnson and husband Oscar of Tulsa, Janice Hill, of Owasso; ten grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Jackson and wife Coleen of Nowata, Mary Fuller and husband Charlie of Nowata; many other relatives and a host of friends.
