Dorothy Jeanette "Cook" Marshall, age 82, of Dallas, Texas formerly a long-time resident of Bartlesville died Saturday November 25, 2006 at Signature Pointe in Dallas. She was born January 23, 1924 in Bartlesville the daughter of Wilson Varvel and Leota Atherly Varvel. She was reared and received her formal education in Bartlesville and her Bachelors in Physical Education from OSU in Stillwater. Dorothy and Alton Cook were married in Bartlesville in 1967 and continued to make their home until his death in 1987. She then married Wilber F. Marshall on March 14, 1989 in Atoka, OK. Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Hillcrest County Club. She was an OSU fan, a avid golfer and enjoyed playing tennis, gardening and a traveling throughout the world. Dorothy leaves behind a nephew Larry and his wife Jeanine Varvel of Broken Arrow, OK two great nieces, Patty and Lainie Varvel and great nephew Andrew Varvel. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Alton B (Cookie) Cook in 1987 and Wilbur Marshall in 2002, two brothers, Kenneth "Pinky" Varvel and L.W. Varvel. Memorials have been established in Dorothy's name with the Alzheimer's Association. Those who would like to make a donation may do so in care of Oklahoma and Arkansas Chapter, Inc. 6465 South Yale Ave. Suite 312 Tulsa, OK 74136-7804 Funeral Services will be Thursday November 30, 2006 in the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Robert Pierson officiating with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Neekamp -Luginbuel Funeral Home.
