Dorothy Collene Smith, age 79 of Ketchum, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013. Dorothy was born in Edna, KS on September 20, 1933 to Daniel and Mabel (Rexwinkle) Kimrey. On August 14, 1954 she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Smith, Jr. and together they raised two sons. Dorothy enjoyed fishing, growing flowers, talking, and joking with others. Dorothy especially loved serving the Lord. She was a charter member of two churches, helped start two missions, worked in the jail ministry, taught children's Sunday school, and took children to church camp in three states. She loved working with children. Survivors include her husband Bill Smith of the home, sons: Howard Smith and wife Karin of Enderlin, North Dakota, Daniel Smith and wife Tracy of Richardson, Texas, grandchildren: Amy Smith, Stephanie Smith, Amanda Smith, Laura Cornwell, Julie Allen, Taylor Allen, great grandson Anthony Smith, and siblings: Clara Wilson of Miami, Bill Kimrey of Bernice, David Kimrey of Miami, Charlene Sykes of Berwick, LA, Larry Kimrey of Miami, Shirley Felts of Liberty, KS, and Linda Briggs of Wichita, KS. She is preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel in Vinita. Celebration of life services will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel with Pastors Skip McClain and Geoff Buffalo officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to the American Cancer Society, C/O June Downey, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave. Kansas City, MO 64105.
