Doug Albert

February 26, 1961 — December 22, 2018

Benjamin Funeral Service, Nowata, Oklahoma. (918)273-2700~

Doug Albert, 57, died peacefully at his home. Doug was born on February 26, 1961 to Ray Lewis and Alpha Faye (Neel) Albert, the youngest of three siblings. Love for mud was imminent. His sister was in charge of picking him up and cleaning him off in the early years. He adored Grandpa Charlie Neel. By listening to the storytellers in the family, Grandma Betty Neel and his Mom, he easily picked up this trait. Doug was crushed when the family moved from Alluwe to Chicago for five long years. Throwing the baseball every evening on the front lawn was a delight between Dad and the young boys there. Doug could hardly wait for summers to come along so the kids could reunite with their grandparents back in Oklahoma and spend time with their cousins living along the Caney River. Doug attended school in Chicago, Alluwe and Nowata. He had an excellent memory. Doug was a man with a plan and always a good one too. His strong work ethic, curiosity, mechanical inclination, resourcefulness and remarkable talent took him many places. He mastered being a cowboy, carpenter, oilfield worker, coalminer, ironworker, lumberjack, builder, heavy equipment operator and mechanic. He enjoyed motorcycles, Corvettes, aviation, hunting, comradery and reminiscing. His beloved dogs, Wiley and Boo brought him much delight. His generous spirit, pleasant personality and orneriness will remain in our hearts forever.

Family members are widow Diane; sister Debi Faye Brewer and husband Jeff of Eucha, brother Steven Ray Albert and wife Kristy of Winganon; nephews Josh, Jake, Riley and Gage; niece Amy; great nephews Gunter, Tanner, and Ray; great nieces Madyson, Lily and Shae; and aunts, uncles and cousins. Doug is also survived by best friends Brad Van Winkle and Ted Pickens, as well as a host of other true friends.

He was preceded in death by his Parents and Grandparents.
