Douglas Chair

Douglas James Chair passed from this life Monday, January 20, 2014 at Saint Francis Hospital, in Tulsa. He was born August 26, 1958, in Claremore, Oklahoma to Perry and Betty Louise (Koonce) Chair. Dougie, as his friends called him, graduated from Nowata High School in 1977, and continued his education at Oklahoma State Tech. He loved Nowata High School sports and hardly ever missed any type of game they were playing. He was loved by all the kids and loved to play jokes on them and give them a hard time. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, and playing softball. He also enjoyed celebrating his Cherokee Indian heritage by dancing and playing drums at Indian Pow Wows. Douglas enjoyed life and will be missed by all who knew him. Douglas is survived by his step-mother, Jean Chair; five siblings, Regina and husband Denny Woolman of Nowata, Bonnie and husband Chris Crossland of Nowata, Gaynia and husband Paul Jones of Stilwell, OK., Perry Chair, Jr. and wife Lisa of Stilwell, OK., Jack Chucalate of Tulsa and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Betty Chair and a brother, Steven Chair.
