Douglas Evans

Douglas S. Evans, 85, went home to be with The Lord Saturday May 4th. He was a long standing member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Grove, OK were he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was born January 29, 1928 in Tulsa, OK to Samuel and Gladys Evans. Doug lived in Grove, OK for 24 years where he shared his wisdom, humor, and support to everyone he met. He served in the Army at the end of WWII in Germany, as a member of a military band. He earned a BS from OU and became a successful Civil engineer. As a civil engineer he has worked in the oil and water industries in NE and OK. During this time he was a partner at Staska Drilling in Albion, NE. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Mary Kay Evans and his children: Michael Evans of Gretna, NE, David Evans of Grove, OK, Stephanie Penington of Elkhorn, NE, and Douglas Evans of Waverly, NE. He was blessed to have 12 grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK Wednesday, May 8 from 5-7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Thursday May 9, at 11:00 am. at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church. Burial will follow after the service at Olympus North cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org. Services are entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.
