Earl Ryder

February 18, 1935 — April 7, 2012

Earl Bennett Ryder , age 77 of Tulsa, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2012 in his home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his immediate family and friends. Earl was born on February 18, 1935 to Fred. D. Ryder and Arstella Grimmitt, the youngest of four born to that union. After graduating from Attucks High School in 1953 he completed two stints in the United States Navy and one in the Marine Corp. receiving honorable discharges from both branches. He wed Patsy L. Hardrick on December 25, 1964 in Carson City, Nevada and had three wonderful children, Gina, Earl Jr., and Michael. He was an employee of the United States Post Office and eventually retired from its Tulsa branch in March of 1990. He will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; and siblings Fred D. Ryder Jr., Teletha Thompson, Augustine Littlejohn, Louis Brown, and Gary Brown. He leaves behind not only his loving wife of 47 years and his three children but also his grandchildren Misha, Michelle, Sara, and Ashley Ryder; his half-brother Cornell Brown, and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing will be held from 1-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com
