Edith Marie (Blum) Collins, 86, of Tulsa passed away Saturday morning, January 20, 2024 in Tulsa.
Edith was born February 2, 1937 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Christopher Joseph Blum and Ona (McGrew) Blum and grew up on the family dairy farm attending Childers schools. Edith married Wesley Dean Collins on June 24, 1955 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Nowata. Edith and Wes ran the family dairy approximately 5 years before moving to Bartlesville where Edith worked in the offices of A. G. Edwards & Son, Cities Service, and Phillips Petroleum. Edith also spent time as a clothing model.
Edith enjoyed many hobbies striving for perfection as an heirloom quality seamstress and quilter. She was also known for her gardening skills displaying many eye-stopping flower gardens and wonderful vegetable gardens. Edith enjoyed volunteering, traveling, and spending quality time with friends and beloved family.
Edith and Wes moved from Bartlesville to Nowata in 2002 where they lived on land that had been in the Blum family since 1905. Edith and Wes moved to an assisted living facility in Tulsa in 2022 were Edith lived out her final years.
Edith is survived by her husband, Wesley, her children Roger & Julie Collins of Westville, OK, Cynthia & Phillip Lowe of Tulsa, OK and Christopher and Nancy Collins of Upperville, VA; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and three sisters Freda Murray and husband, Duane, Jania Faulkner and Ginger Reynolds and many dear relatives and treasured friends.
Services will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 at 1p.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Nowata, OK. A rosary will be offered at 12:30 p.m. prior to the Mass.
Edith will be laid to rest in her eternal home in Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery with her beloved family members.
