Effie Barnes

Effie Mae Davis Barnes of Colcord, Oklahoma died at 10:45 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2008 at SouthCrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 60. Effie was born on November 3, 1947 in Kansas, Oklahoma to David and Backie (Lyman) Davis. She was a proud member of the Cherokee Tribe. Effie worked as a production worker for 12 years at Peterson Farms. Effie was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed attending Pow-Wow's, and traditional meetings of the Apache Nation at Clinton, Oklahoma. Survivors include her son Billy Davis and his wife Kimberly Roberts; one grandson, Brandon Davis; and one step-grandson, Darren Vann. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 24, 2008 at New Green Baptist Church near Kansas, Oklahoma with Reverend Fox Blackfox officiating. Burial will be in Blackfox Cemetery, Kansas, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Larry Lyman, Jack Russell, Jason Foreman, Chris Moore, Neil Cochran, an Russell Sixkiller.
