Elinor LaBelle Collier, 92, passed from this life into eternal rest at Bartlesville Assisted Living in the early morning hours of May 11, 2023. Elinor was born in Nowata, Oklahoma, on January 6, 1931, to Walter Edgar Miller and Odessa Opal (Sutherland) Miller.
Elinor lived in the Nowata area her entire lifetime. She attended Nowata High School. Elinor worked at the Hays House as the Laundry Supervisor for many years. In her free time, Elinor enjoyed spending time outdoors, walking outside and working in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed watching reality tv, sewing, cooking, and sitting outside drinking coffee. Family was Elinor’s top priority and she loved it when she could have her family together for holidays and gatherings. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and ball games. Elinor will be missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Odessa Miller; her granddaughter: Tori Collier; her brothers: Charles Fredrick Miller, Edgar Miller, Edward Miller, and Estlin Wayne Miller; and her baby sister: Edith Miller
Those left to cherish the memory of a wonderful woman include: her children: Terry Collier and wife, Cheryl of Nowata, OK, Dennis Collier of Nowata, OK, Roger Collier and wife, Elisa of Nowata, OK, and Rachelle White and husband, Kevin of Nowata, OK; her grandchildren: Lacey Marie Bunker, Kelsey Krouse, Kimberly Dawn Stephens, Brandon Eugene Collier, Clint Collier, Ashley Downing, Terren Caswell, and Shelby Harris; 22 great-grandchildren, her siblings: Eloise Beth Bates and Darrell Miller, along with other family members and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel. A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery with Wendell Abbott officiating.
