Elizabeth Davis

Elizabeth "Libby" Maye Davis went to be with the Lord on Saturday November 20, 2010 after a brave battle with cancer. Libby was born on June 30, 1949 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio to Guy Russell Davis and Columbia Marguerite Butcher Davis. She grew up in the Mt. Vernon, Ohio and Weston, West Virginia areas. She moved to Northeastern Oklahoma at the age of eighteen, to marry and have a family. Libby married her first husband Earl Ted Dodd in May of 1968. They divorced in 1986 and he passed away in August 1994. She married Billy Wayne Holloway in June of 1988 he passed away in February of 2009. Libby worked as a certified medication aide, home health aide, and nurse's aide, at all of the nursing homes in the Grove and jay area for many years. She was extremely devoted to the elderly and disabled people she took care of, and she rarely missed a day of work. She had a fondness for children and many kids (and parents of kids) always referred to her as "Mom". Libby had few hobbies but she did enjoy reading, fishing, and crocheting. In what little free time she had, as well as NASCAR and George Strait music, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and pets. Libby is survived by her daughter, Beth Dodd Smith, and Beth's sons, Christian Thom and wife Collen Smith of the home, Her Son Guy "Butch" Dodd, and wife Brandy Blackfox Dodd, and their three daughters April Blackfox Dodd Alexis Dodd and Cierra Dodd, all of Kenwood, OK, Step daughter Billie Sue Martin and husband Calvin Martin and their children Russell and Jessica Martin and Jessica's daughter Harper Emory Martin, all of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Libby is also survived by sisters, Lorraine Davis of Ireland West Virginia, Sammie Mitchell and husband Jerry of Buckhannon West Virginia, and Dorrene Williams and husband Jason of Clarksville, Tennessee, one brother Eddie Davis of Pikesville North Carolina and her honorary sister Eva Hart of Nevada, Missouri, and honorary nephew Justin Beauer, of Jay, Oklahoma, along with a host of other nieces and nephews, friends, and family. Libby was preceded in death by her children's father Earl, husband Bill Holloway, two daughters, Molly and Sara Dodd, one son James Grant Dodd, two stepsons Don and Michael Holloway, and her brother George Allen Davis, and her parents Guy and Columbia Davis. Funeral services will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma; on Wednesday November 24, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Steeley Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma on Tuesday November 23, 2010 from 6-8 p.m.
