Eugene Mahurin

Eugene Martin Mahurin, Grove resident, died Wednesday September 15, 2010 at Integris Grove Hospital at the age of 79 years. Gene was born on January 25, 1931 in Fairland, Oklahoma to Rupert and Georgia (Hampton) Mahurin. He attended Fairland schools. Gene worked for BF Goodrich as a tire maker. His hobbies included model T cars, gardening, fishing, and tinkering with antique motors. He was a member of the Retired Iron Works in Gentry, Arkansas. His preceded in death by his parents. Gene leaves many loving memories with his family, sons, Butch Mahurin and Darrel Mahurin; daughters, Ann Mahurin and Julie Mitchell and husband Jim; brother, Wayne Mahurin and wife Helen; sister Violet Finley; grandchildren, TC Mitchell, Lauren Mahurin, Janene Mahurin, Nickole Mahurin; great-grandchildren, Justus Mitchell and Izabel Mitchell; as well as many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday September 17, 2010 at Grove's First Baptist Church with Pastor James Wilder. Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Casket bearers will be TC Mitchell, Jim Mitchell, Josh Mitchell, Jeremy Box, Alan Mahurin, and JV Finley. Services are entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.
