Funeral services for Floyd Dean Akers are 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Tonya Lopp Officiating. Interment will follow at Ball Cemetery. Family will be receiving friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Benjamin Funeral Service. Floyd Dean Akers, 57, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He was born June 16, 1960 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Joe and Mary (Rhodd) Akers. Floyd attended Delaware Schools. He was a heavy equipment operator working in his family construction business. He was a member of the Equipment Operators Local 627 Union. In April of 1985, Floyd married Katherine Jones in Delaware. They had three children. Floyd attended the Delaware Baptist Church and enjoyed collecting antiques. He was always on the go and often took his dog for drives. Floyd had many friends and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be missed by all who knew him. Floyd is survived by his mother, Mary Akers; three children, Whitney Akers Maple and husband Davy of Delaware, Oklahoma, Jesseca Miller and husband Taylor of Chandler, Oklahoma, Austin Akers of Delaware, Oklahoma; two siblings, Anita Robertson and husband David of Delaware, Oklahoma, Steven Akers and wife Janetta of Nowata, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Wyatt Maple, Joesi Maple, Addilyn Miller, Kinsley Miller, Casen Miller.
