Ralph Beavers officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service. Frances Marie Grimmett, 79, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. She was born May 31, 1937 in Alluwe, Oklahoma to Bert and Lelia (Vaughn) Mayhew. She attended and graduated from Lincoln School in Nowata. On February 2, 1954 she married the love of her life George Grimmett Jr. in Nowata, Oklahoma. Frances worked as a recreation director with the Community Action Program. She was a member of the First Baptist Church on North Willow Street in Nowata. Frances served in the kitchen and was very active in her church. She enjoyed reading and was on the Lincoln School Reunion Committee. Above all she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She held a special place in her heart for all her family. She loved watching her sons play sports and was always there to support them. Frances will be missed by all who knew her. Frances is survived by her husband George of the home; three children, Felix Grimmett and wife Julie of Austin Texas, James Grimmett and wife Margaret of Coffeyville, Kansas, Lloyd Grimmett and wife Dee of Stillwater, Oklahoma; a sister, Maxine Rogers of Wichita, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Ronald Edmond, Gaylen Grimmett, Andrea Walker, Branden Grimmett, Brooke Grimmett, Chris Grimmett, Brett Grimmett and nine great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Lelia; a daughter, Karen Grimmett and a brother, Maynard Mayhew. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Benjamin Funeral Service on Friday, September 2, 2016. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
