Luginbuel Funeral Home Vinita, 918-256-5555.......Francis Patrick Crahan, Sr. passed away December 31, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born November 15, 1928 in Vinita, Oklahoma the son of Paige Crahan and June (Rider) Crahan. Pat was raised in Vinita, Oklahoma and a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. Pat grew up working a variety of part time jobs, including a summer at the State Mental Hospital and considerable time with the Vinita Daily Journal selling advertising and doing editorial work. The Korean War interrupted Pat's college career two years after enrolling in Oklahoma A&M when he enlisted in the US Air Force. Pat returned to OSU and completed his degree, majoring in Business, with a minor in Psychology. All of his adult life he was loyal to his family, friends, and job. Pat spent eight years in the oil field supply business; after which, he was hired directly by L. S. Shoen, founder of U-Haul as President of Oklahoma and Arkansas. Pat came to love U-Haul almost as much as his family. Pat was a Devout Catholic his entire life. He loved to travel, fish and tell stories. Throughout his life he touched many other souls across America and Canada. He will be dearly missed!! At home, he was considered the Iron Man of the neighborhood ... insisting on doing his own chores and yard work, active until the very end. His career ended the day he passed ... Preceding him in death was his father, Paige; his mother, June and his sisters, Mary Lou Brey and Sally Williams. Pat leaves behind his dearest Velva, who was his love, partner in life and career for 62 years; along with four children, Bob Crahan, Melanie Ball, Patrick Crahan and Mike Crahan; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services for Francis Patrick Crahan, Sr. will be held 1:00 p.m., January 11, 2018 at Luginbuel Funeral Chapel, with Rev. M.E.
