Francis Hufford

Funeral services for Frank M. Hufford are at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Ben Killion officiating. Frank Hufford passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Brookfield Assisted Living Center in Claremore. He was born on November 26, 1923 in Slick, Oklahoma to Clint and Nina (Large) Hufford. Frank attended and graduated from Oilton High School. He married Lanette Clark in Cushing, Oklahoma and they were together until her death in December, 2008. Frank served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He later attended Mortuary Science College in Huston, Texas. In 1948 Frank and Lanette made their home in Nowata and he started working for R.W. Benjamin as a funeral director. Frank later accecpted the position of Nowata Hospital Administrator, where he continued to work until retirement. After retiring from the hospital Frank returned to Benjamin's where he helped working services and doing anything that was needed of him. Frank was a member of the Nowata Lions Club, Nowata Chamber of Commerce, Nowata Masonic Lodge Sunset 57. He was a very personable and could make anyone feel at ease. He loved talking to people and spending time with people. Frank was also an avid motorcycle rider for years and loved going on rides with his friends. Frank touched the lives of many people around Nowata and will be missed by many. Frank is survived by his two children, Bekki West and husband Buddy of Pryor, Clint "Skip" Hufford of Pensacola, Florida; four grandchildren, Angela Chard and husband Scott of Edmond, Amanda Brooks and husband Ron of South Lake, Texas, Emily McIntosh of Magnolia, Texas, Molly Gordon and husband Darren of Edmond, and ten great grandchildren. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Nina Hufford; his wife Lanette (Clark) Hufford; three brothers, Clint Hufford, Jimmy Hufford, and Forrest Hufford.
