Fredrick Wolfe

Fredrick "Fred" Eugene Wolfe Fred Wolfe age 84 of Grove, OK died Thursday April 15, 2010 at the Grand Lake Villa in Grove, OK. The son of Rosco Wolfe and Adelia Anna Matthew Wolfe, he was born on February 6, 1926 in Joplin, MO. Fred married Wanda Lee Colson in August of 1947 in Miami, OK. They were members of the Faith Baptist Church in Joplin and later attended the Park Plaza Christian Church in Joplin, MO. He served in the 42nd Infantry in WW II. Serving in Germany, he received the Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, World War II Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He worked as a Machine operator retiring from Mid-Con Cable. He also worked at the Grove Sun, Junge Bakery, Fred's Linen Supply, and Farechilds Vickers. Surviving are His wife of 61 years Wanda Wolfe, a daughter Cheri Jean Lamb of Neosho, two sons Danny Lee Wolfe in Grove, and Dennis Eugene Wolfe in Joplin, MO., 2 grandchildren John Dean Boyd Jr. and wife Tracy René, and Aaron Matthew Thornton and wife Catrina Rae, 3 great grandchildren Brenlea Diane Boyd, Emily Nichole Boyd, and Kamden Blaine Thornton. As one of nine children, only a sister Juanita Fegan survives. The funeral will be at the Graveside in the Ozark Memorial Cemetery in Joplin at 2 PM on Monday April 19, 2010. The Grove Veterans Ritual Team will give veterans rites. There will be a visitation for Family and Friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM ON SUNDAY April 18, 2010. The services are under the directions of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK.
