Galen Halstead

Galen Blake Halstead Jr. Blake Halstead age 71 of Bernice, OK died Friday June 20, 2008 in the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. The son of Galen Blake Sr. and Dorothy (Brownlee) Halstead, he was born on January 2, 1937 in Tulsa, OK. Blake graduated from Union High School in 1956. He married ImaJean Hays on June 30, 1962 in Tulsa. Blake worked for 32 years for Jorgenson Steel as a Warehouse man and truck driver. He served in the US Army. He was a member of the Bernice Baptist Church where he was in charge of lawn mowing. He volunteered much time and effort to the process of building a family center for the church. Survived by: His wife ImaJean Halstead of the home A daughter Michelle Middleton and husband Chris of Cleora, OK, and his loving and only grandson Braden Middleton A brother Gary Halstead and wife Donna Sisters Deanna Ross and Alice Humphrey and husband John A brother in law and sister in law Bill & Erma Raven And many nieces, nephews, friends and church family He was preceded in death by his parents, and a Brother Jimmy and a sister Barbara, and a brother in law Jerry Ross The funeral will be at the graveside in the Pheasant Hill Cemetery north of Vinita, OK at 10:00 AM on Monday June 23, 2008. The family request donations to the Bernice Baptist Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers The services are under the directions of the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, OK
